Hadithi Crafts launched its first Spring Summer collection, of a trending colour scheme for a fresh feel.
We feature Yellow, Red, Blue and Black.
The black sisal is dyed with local tradtional natural dyeing techniques.
The yellow, Red and Blue sisal are dyed in the Hadithi Dye centre, launched in 2024, where we dye sisal in house so all health and environmental standards are sure to be observed.

The creation of each zipper involves a collaborative effort among a few of our Hadithi artisans. The skilled weaver crafts the finely woven basket, the leather artisan sews on the zip with our goat leather, and You can read about the making of in our story pages.

Made by hand by rural artisans in south-eastern Kenya from sisal material, following traditional Taita weaving techniques. Give your dining table a unique touch with these gorgeous flowercone.

The black variant is made using ONLY natural dyes. The red, blue and yellow are dyed in the Hadithi Dye Centre.

Made by hand by our artisans in south-eastern Kenya from a local palm called Magangachi, following traditional weaving techniques.
There are a few steps in this labour intensive process. First all the leaves are split in narrow strips. These are braided into a long wide strap. This strap is then made into a basket by coiling up the strap from the middle of the bottom of the basket, and sewn down with sisal string to itself as it gets coiled up.
The result is a very light and very strong basket made from local palm leaf, perfect for market shopping, or storing things at home.
Available in plain, Airforce blue, Coral red and Turmeric yellow.
The palm in blue red and yellow, used to pattern the sunbag, is dyed in the Hadithi Dye centre.
The Plain basket doesn't use any dyes, but will still have the natural variety of colours the natural material can show. There are natural shades of yellow green grey and beige to look out for.
Then the basket is finished by our leather craftsmen in Buguta disabled group, with round short handles made of locally and naturally tanned goat leather.
